Faith Kipyegon Has Revealed What She Teaches Her 6-Year-Old Daughter Alyn
Faith Kipyegon revealed her daughter Alyn who turns 6 years in 3 months' time, loves running despite her young age
Kenya’s short and long marathon runner Faith Kipyegon has opened up about what she wants her daughter Alyn to learn from her eminent marathon career. The 30-year-old Kipyegon holds two world records in one mile and 1500M records.
In an interview with World Athletics, Kipyegon revealed how her daughter motivates her when in the track adding that through her daughter, she feels she can motivate the young generation disclosing that she would like to see her daughter learn a lot from her as she grows.

The 1500m and one mile record holder said, “I think I’m flying when I see her. When I see her, I run very fast because I know I’m motivating the young generation and I want her to learn that her mother is a professional athlete and I want her to learn a lot.” Kipyegon told World Athletics.

The mother of one also talked about motherhood and how it affected her career. Kipyegon got pregnant to her first-born daughter Alyn in 2018 which forced her to take a break in her athletics career before making a comeback in 2019. However, she revealed that making a comeback to track wasn’t easy due to the motherhood as well as adding a lot of weight in that period. “It was not easy, when you are used to weigh 44Kg and then after maternity leave you are like 63Kg, and you have to reduce and come back to running.
“It makes you have two different thoughts like am I coming back strong, or this is the end of my career? But for me, I took it positively and just trained and just worked hard because my team was really believing in me that I would be back stronger.”
Faith Kipyegon also revealed that her daughter Alyn who turns 6 years in 3 months’ time, loves running despite her young age, “She is still young, but she likes running around the house and when I’m doing some photoshoots, she likes joining me and enjoying herself.”
