Saidi, a Rwandanese man lives in denial after he contracted an unknown disease that left him bedridden for over 13 years of his life without having a long call.

In an exclusive interview with Afrimax English, Saidi disclosed that he contracted the unidentified disease of failing to go for long call in 2010.

At the time of contracting the disease, he revealed that he started experiencing mild pains in his lower abdomen which was accompanied by failures in defecation despite having eaten chunks of food.

“I have spent 13 years without going to the toilet, in other words, I have never had a bowel movement even though I eat every day like anyone else but when it comes to defecation,” he spoke on his long call issue.

After contracting the strange disease, he added that he visited several health facilities to seek medication for his health condition but never bumped into the remedy. After seeing no change, he sought help from an herbalist and other traditional seers but the situation remained the same.

In one incident, his wife revealed that doctors told her that her husband was hungry and that he was supposed to eat lots of food. “The doctors told me that he is just hungry and needs to eat,” Zamuda said.

That made her and the husband seek help from neighbours in terms of food but they reached a time when they stopped getting them some food stuff.

The neighbours were helping us in the beginning but the illness took a long time to heal and so they stopped their help, I can’t blame them, I know it’s very difficult to help someone every day for up to 13 years,” Saidi added.

The Rwandanese man still hopes to see a day when abdominal pains will end and see himself going for long calls like he was 10 years ago. Currently, the father of four depends on his wife for basic provisions because of the disease that made him lose his job as a driver.
