Ferdinand Omanyala And Company To Compete For Ksh. 290M At The World Indoor Championships

Ferdinand  Omanyala is the African fastest man and 9th fastest man of all time in the world of 100m sprint. He will be competing at the World Indoor Championships which commences this coming Friday of 1st-3rd March 2024 for the 3 days event where a total of $2 million approximately Ksh 291 Million will be up for grabs.

The event will be held at the 6,500-capacity Emirates Arena in Dalmarnock in Glasgow, Scotland where elite athletes will be in contention for gold, silver and bronze medals and prize money in stake. Omanyala who won Meeting Miramas in France few weeks ago will be looking to scoop gold medal as well as walking home with some good amount of money.

Ferdinand Omanyala will face a stiff competition from two USA track rivals Christian Coleman and Noah Lyles as both Omanyala and Lyles will be looking to win their first-ever World Indoor title in this year’s edition with Coleman having won it during 2018 World Indoor Championships held in Birmingham, England.

The event organizers have revealed the prize money set to be won by the top performers as well as record breakers in the championship. In any case Ferdinand Omanyala wins the gold medal he will walk away with $7000 (Ksh. 1,018,500) plus a bonus of Ksh. 451,350. 

Omanyala will be in track this Friday 1st March, at 10:10am for Men’s 60m heats before taking part in Men’s 60m semi-final at 4:45PM if he succeeds in the heats and then he will be in contention for the gold medal in the finals scheduled to take place 2 hours later at 6:45PM East African time.
