Laventa Amutavi is wife to the fastest man in Africa and ninth in the world Ferdinand Omanyala. He was in France this past weekend where he set a new National Record of 6.52 seconds in the 60m race to win the Meeting Miramas Metropole in France.

5. She Became a mom when she was still in university
The two started dating when they were still in campus, though they were in two different campuses, with Omanyala studying at University of Nairobi and Laventa Amutavi in Moi University.
The two were blessed with their first-born son while still in university sinking them into financial constraints since both were students and they had no source of income to take care of the newborn son. In an interview with Lynn Ngugi Lavenya disclosed that her family came through in their kid’s upkeep “I thank my family for they came on board to assist but it reached a time that we went broke since, in as much we got support, we didn’t have a salary to sustain us,”
The two lovebirds’ financial problems took another path after the couple decided to enroll their son in an online competition “At the end of the competition, we made it to the top three and we were awarded Ksh100,000. This really saved us because we were sinking into debt. After tax, we received Ksh80,000 which we survived on,” Laventa added.
4. She is an Athlete
In an interview with Jeff Koinange, the beautiful wife of Omanyala revealed she is also sprinter like his husband, and she participates in different races with her best time being 12 seconds in the 100m dash.
“I was already in the athletics before he came in. I have been in athletics since 2015.” keeping in mind Omanyala used to play Rugby in high school before shifting to Athletics when he joined University of Nairobi.
3. She is a Long Jumper
Aside from athletics Laventa Amutavi revealed she is also a long jumper.

2. She Once worked as a Medical Profession at Mama Lucy Hospital
After completing her social worker degree at Moi University Laventa Amutavi secured a job at Mama Lucy Hospital in Nairobi. Where she got financially stable together with the help of her colleagues to fend his kid and Omanyala.

After landing job at Mama Lucy Hospital Laventa Amutavi used to support his husband Omanyala who was trying to make ends meet in an interview she said, “We had a baby, and I was in a financial position to help. I knew the potential Omanyala possessed and that is why I gave him time to pursue his dream. I am glad it is paying off,”
