The Wanyama’s family is deeply rooted in sports, with the talents ranging from football to basketball. Mercy Wanyama is younger sister to the renowned former Harambee Stars midfielder, McDonald Mariga and former Tottenham Hotspurs and Southampton midfielder Victor Wanyama, who currently plays his soccer at CF Montreal in Major League Soccer in the USA.

Mercy Wanyama is a professional basketball player as she represents the country with Kenya Lionesses in basketball games.  She has played for the Equity Hawks from 2016 until 2018 where she won the MVP at the national league and the club qualifiers. She also played for a local club- MTM Storms before moving to abroad where she joined ADBA Avilés, a Spanish team, then, later moved to AD Cortegada LF2 team in Spain.

In August last year, she took a huge step in his basketball career when she inked a one-year contract with Lithuania club BC Krepsino Siaulai.

The 32-year-old basketballer is a mother of one son named Jarvin who turned 9 years old in May last year, Mercy doesn’t shy away from showing her son to her fans.
