Celebrated journalist Enock Sikolia has broken silence over claims that he was sacked by Citizen TV.
Speaking on his YouTube channel Kenya Historian Official, the CGTN (China Global Television Network) journalist said he was never sacked from his former media company but resigned.
Sikolia added that his resignation process came from goodwill and that he wanted to venture into something new to gain new skills and experience in line with media.

“I was never sacked, I resigned. Citizens did not want me to go. I had made a decision that I was leaving Citizen TV.” Sikolia said.
When he submitted his resignation letter to the Human Resource Officer, he said that HR pleaded with him not to leave but he had decided to leave the media and there was no way he could stay at the media.
In July 2020, Many things were happening, one morning I walked to the HR office and I tendered my resignation. She wondered why, yet I was at the best media house. I had the best managers eg Linus Kaikai and Joe Ageyo among others.” he revealed.

The history aficionado journalist added that rumours some media spread alleging he had an altercation with his bosses were not true. According to him, he had a close rapport with his bosses.
Further, he cut the roots of false information alleging he left RMS company because of political issues. Sikolia said he had a good rapport with most politicians and had not crossed the red line with them.
” Some people say I left because of politics. When I left the politicians I used to call my friends stopped picking up my calls. I was the person they called even late at night, I thought I was on their speed dials.” He added.

However, he encountered several cut-offs from his former colleagues who distanced themselves from him by blue-ticking him on WhatsApp while others went ahead not picking up his calls.
Even though a lot was said, he’s proud of the experience he has gained while at CGTN Media.
