A cross-section of Kenyans has taken to different social media platforms to call out Jowie Irungu’s friends for abandoning him in his time of need.
According to countless netizens who aired their views following the Monica Kimani murder case court ruling, Jowie’s friends were nowhere to be seen moments after Lady Justice Grace Nzioka delivered her ruling.
As earlier reported by Mideyah Digital, The High Court, on Friday, February 9, found the main suspect in the case Joseph Irungu alias Jowie guilty of the murder of businesswoman Monica Nyawira Kimani.

His co-accused Jacque Maribe was acquitted with the judge noting that the count of murder was not the proper charge that the prosecution would have preferred against the journalist.
The judge added that the evidence forwarded by the prosecution against Maribe did not place her in the house of the deceased on the fateful night, therefore exonerating her from the charge.
Jacque Maribe’s friends, including Dennis Itumbi, were present during the ruling and showed solidarity with her.
On the other hand, none of Jowie Irungu’s known friends was in the court vicinity.
This attracted the attention of netizens who wanted to know where Jowie’s friends such as Joe Muchiri and DJ Slahver were during their boy’s crucial court session.

Mideyah Digital understands Joe Muchiri was in Mombasa partying and publicising an Amapiano event which he has been pushing in the country.
DJ Slahver and the rest who were spotted with the accused during the initial court proceedings were neither present.
Kenyans on social media were irked by the friends’ decision to ditch one of their own during his most trying time.
