As earlier reported by this publication, the High Court, on Friday, February 9, found the main suspect in the case Joseph Irungu alias Jowie guilty of the murder of businesswoman Monica Nyawira Kimani.
It should be noted that Jowie and former Citizen TV news anchor Jacque Maribe were pointed out as the main suspects following the death of Monica Kimani who was brutally killed on the night of September 19, 2018, at her Lamuria Gardens apartment in Nairobi.
Delivering the judgment on the aforementioned date, Lady Justice Grace Nzioka ruled that the prosecution presented adequate evidence to prove beyond reasonable doubt that Jowie indeed killed Monica Kimani.
However, Jacque Maribe, who was charged alongside Jowie was acquitted of the murder charge.
In her ruling, the judge noted that the count of murder was not the proper charge that the prosecution would have preferred against the journalist.

The judge added that the evidence forwarded by the prosecution against Maribe did not place her in the house of the deceased on the fateful night, therefore exonerating her from the charge.
The ruling excited many people who really wanted justice for Monica to be served.
Among them was Black Cinderella who let out her opinion on the ruling through social media.
She posted a video of herself thanking the Judiciary and reminding the world that Kenya will not allow criminals to walk free after committing different crimes.
In Jowie’s case, she urged the government to hurriedly harvest Jowie’s organs and donate them to needy Kenyans who need them.

According to Cinderella, the government should punish Jowie immediately and not waste time, allowing him time to appeal.
“The government should harvest the vital organs of Jowie Irungu and donate them to needy sick patients in society and dispose of the body now that he has been found guilty of murdering Monica Kimani. There is no need for any other sentencing because if we continue to give lenient penalties, we will continue to have men who think femicide is ok.” She wrote.
Her sentiments divided her followers with quite a number of her followers and fans asking her to allow the law to take its due course.
