Cristiano Ronaldo Names The Team He Enjoys Watching Most In World Football

Cristiano Ronaldo is regarded as one of the greatest players of all to have played football. The Al-Nassr and Portugal captain is topping scoring charts at both Club and international levels. Ronaldo previously played for Real Madrid and Juventus before his sensational return to Manchester United in 2021.

His second stint at the club did not go as many expected as Ronaldo faced tough time under United manager Erik ten Hag, he was benched several even on crucial matches like Manchester Derby that saw United lose 6-3 to Manchester City.

Towards the start of the 2022 World Cup held in Qatar it emerged a controversial interview of Ronaldo with English Journalist Piers Morgan where he opened up on so many issues concerning the club and coach Erik ten Hag. “I don’t have respect for him [Ten Hag] because he doesn’t show respect for me,” Ronaldo said in a fragment interview in November 2022.

This revelation saw Ronaldo leaving the club on a mutual consent United as he terminated his contract where he moved to Middle East and signed a record-breaking deal with Saudi Pro League side Al-Nassr for a two and half contract worth 200m per year.

The 38-year-old move to Saudi Arabia saw many Europe based stars join the league last summer which was a remarkable expansion of the Saudi Pro League.

The five-time Ballon d’Or winner has made a significant impact in Saudi Arabia, emerging as the leading goal-scorer in global football for 2023 with 54 goals for Al Nassr and his national team Portugal.

During this year’s Globe Soccer Awards held in Dubai, while addressing the audience Ronaldo elaborated on the significance of his accomplishment for him. “I was the best goal scorer. I had to beat the young lions, like Haaland for example, so I’m proud,” he said.

Ronaldo was also asked who his favourite club to watch is, and his answer rose eyebrows especially his former clubs’ fans Moreso Manchester United. “Manchester City did amazing congratulations on their season. Players, coach, superb…”, Ronaldo explained at the ceremony “Finally they win the Champions League, they probably deserved it two years ago. I enjoy seeing them playing.” Ronaldo said.
