United who came from behind to beat Aston Villa 3-2 during the week found themselves trailing again in the 64th minute when Argentinian international Nicolas Dominguez opened the scoring for Nottingham.

However, Marcus Rashford levelled the score 14 minutes later making it 1-1 in the 78th which seemed like another turnaround for Manchester United only for English star Gibbs-White who doubled the lead for Nottingham 4 minutes after Rashford’s equalizer.

 

Gibbs-White goal sealed a home win for Nuno Espirito side to end the year on a high.

This Nottingham’s win is their second win in a row after thrashing Newcastle United 3-1 in the Boxing Day at St. James’ Park. Today’s win is the first win against Manchester United since 1993 which is the same as 29 years ago.

 

Manchester United remains at position 7 with 31 points while Nottingham Forest moves to position 15 with 20 points.
