Children Die In Terrible Accident On Their Way To Bury Their Sibling

Darkness and sorrow filled Mugema Village in Kayunga Town Council after a tycoon buried his three children on the same day.

 

Banadda Galiwango, a rich man with two marital homes in Buddo and Maya first lost his one year and a half child on Wednesday morning.

 

On the evening of that same day, Galiwango sent a car; Vitz reg. UBP 536D to his home in Maya to pick up his other two children to take them to Kayunga for the burial of their baby sibling.

 

The car set off at around 11 PM after picking the children and just as they arrived at the main road, a Sino Truck reg. UBM 710M that was overtaking on the Kampala – Masaka highway rammed into the Vitz, crashing it and killing all the occupants.

The deceaseds Walia Namayanja 13, a primary six pupil and Sharif Bukenya 16, a S. 3 student, together with their driver Muhammad Tulyagi all died on spot.

 

Kazibwe Ronald, a resident in Maya revealed that the place where the accident happened had been marked as a black spot with accidents happening almost every couple of days.

 

According to one of the deceased’s’ caretakers, Kitengeja Vincent revealed that they spent the whole day in a jovial mood going about their daily chores. At around midday, they received a call from their father telling them to prepare for the journey to Kayunga because he was sending a car to pick them.

The KMP deputy police spokesperson Luke Oweyesigyire stated that they are actively searching for the driver of the Sino Truck who disappeared after causing the accident. He further requested all road users to be more careful and avoid over-speeding especially in this festive season.

 

All the three children were buried yesterday at Mugema Village.
