André Braugher, known for his prowess acting scenes in ‘Homicide: Life on the Street,’ ‘Brooklyn Nine Nine,’ and other series and films, has passed away at the age of 61.
The talented actor, who frequently brought police officers to life on screen, showcased his talent through both dramatic and comedy roles.
Braugher, well-known for his role as Captain Raymond Holt in Brooklyn Nine Nine, secured two Emmy Awards out of 11 nominations.

His exceptional performances in ‘Homicide’ and ‘Thief’ earned him the prestigious recognition.
Terry Crews, Melissa Fumero, Stephanie Beatriz, and other co-stars in ‘Brooklyn Nine-Nine,’ expressed heartfelt tribute, acknowledging Braugher’s “irreplaceable talent.”
“I’m honoured to have known you, laughed with you, worked with you and shared eight glorious years watching your irreplaceable talent,” Terry wrote on his instagram page.
“Your laugh was one of the all time greatest laughs to have ever existed,” Fumero, who played Amy Santiago posted on her Instagram.

Joe Lo Truglio, who played Charles Boyle, expressed “many wonderful stories will be told about Andre”.
Notably, Braugher’s career spanned a wide range of roles, including his memorable portrayal of Captain Raymond Holt in ‘Brooklyn Nine-Nine,’ garnering him four Emmy nominations.
His Emmy victories came in 1998 for ‘Homicide: Life on the Street’ and in 2006 for ‘Thief,’ where he masterfully led a heist crew.
The actor’s breakthrough came in the 1989 film ‘Glory,’ alongside Matthew Broderick and Denzel Washington.
