Cecafa U-18 Tournament Starts This Saturday

The Council For East And Central Africa Football Associations (CECAFA) U-18 Championship this year’s edition will be held in Kenya at Kisumu and Kakamega counties.

 

The tournament will kick-off this Saturday on November 25 to December 9 when the finals will be played.

 

The tournament has attracted a total of 8 teams across East Africa, the participants includes the Hosts Kenya, Sudan, Tanzania, Rwanda, South Sudan, Uganda, Zanzibar and Somalia.

 

The U-18 boys commonly known as Junior stars will be flying the Kenyan flag led by the newly appointed head coach Salim Babu who went scouting for talents across the country including the just concluded Kenya Secondary School ball games and FKF managed leagues like NSL and also football academies.

The tournament is set to kick-off this weekend of November 25 at Kisumu and Kakamega counties.

 

Group A matches will be staged at Jomo Kenyatta Stadium while Group B matches to be played at Bukhungu stadium respectively.

 

The opening match will be between the hosts Kenya playing against Sudan in group A at Mamboleo Jomo Kenyatta Stadium in Kisumu while in Group B opening fixture will involve Tanzania and Uganda.

The Semi finals of the tournament will be played on 5th of December while Finals to be played on 9th all to be played in Kisumu at Mamboleo Jomo Kenyatta Stadium.
