Principal Secretary in State Department of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises Development Susan Auma Mang’eni has responded to a viral video where a Nairobi hawker clashed with County Askari.
In the viral video, a young man hawking groundnuts in Nairobi CBD was filmed shedding tears bitterly after a female County Enforcement Officer spread his groundnuts on the ground.
Holding the alleged female Kanjo not to move an inch, one onlooker was heard urging the man not to leave the Kanjo until sanity is restored.
” Huyo ni mtoto mdogo. Sasa hii ni kazi gani. Ebu mlipe.. ” one man from the group of onlookers was heard commenting.

Following the act, Kenyan Comedian Eric Omondi took to his Instagram page requesting fans to help him locate the young hawker.
” Wakimwaga tunaokota.. wakibomoa tunajenga!! Namtafuta huyu kijana, ikiwa una namba yake tafadhali comment nayo au niDM.. lakini kumbuka OUR TIME IS COMING,” Eric Omondi said.
PS Susan Auma on her side, has responded to the heinous act by requesting Kenyans to aid her locate the young hawker.

Further, she urged Nairobi Governor Johnson Sakaja to value the life and hustles of hawkers by protecting their hustles during tough economic times.
” It is imperative to preserve and nurture these enterprises, recognizing that their demise does not enhance Nairobi’s affluence and prosperity.
