Sherri Gonzales, a donor from the United States, is seeking justice in Kenya to recover funds and property meant for a children’s home and school, allegedly fraudulently acquired by a Bishop based in Naivasha.

Gonzales, established a non-profit organization in 2016. He later  traveled to Kenya a year later to start an education center for underprivileged children.

He claims to have encountered Abiud Masinde, a Bishop at Oasis Grace in Naivasha. She initially hired him as a director, but suspicions arose when she discovered he was providing her with forged ownership documents for the school.

“I hired him as a director but later realized that he was sending me forged documents to claim ownership of the school,” Gonzales revealed in a video statement.

According to Gonzales, she continued to send money to the bishop for the institution’s operation, unaware that, the property had been registered under the bishop’s name. Since then, her efforts to regain control of the school have been unsuccessful.

She claimed that the bishop continued to receive money and charitable donations from US donors through her organization.

Expressing her frustration, Gonzales said, “I don’t harbor emotions towards the Bishop; my anger stems from the fact that he has been allowed to escape accountability, withholding money intended for the children.”

Notably, her son, Genos Derwin Williams, a former National Football League (NFL) player, was one of the project’s major contributors, helping raise millions for the initiative.
