Police Probe The Mystery Murder Of Top Businessman
Police are investigating the murder of city tycoon Katanga Henry who was murdered under mysterious circumstances at his home on Thursday.
Katanga 61, a money lender and a renowned businessman was fatally shot in the head at his Mbuya home located near the army barracks and according to police reports they first suspected his wife Katanga Molly to have pulled the trigger that ended his life until they discovered her lying on the floor unconscious and hurt. She was rushed to IHK hospital in Namuwongo in critical condition.
It said on the fateful day of the murder, there was a quarrel between the married couple at around 7 AM before the gun went off.
“The couple first had a quarrel before a big bang was heard. When their daughter called Tricia rushed to the bedroom, she found when her father was dead and bleeding from the head,” an anonymous source said
Police from Bugolobi rushed to the scene and recorded the murder case under file SD Ref: 21/02/11/2023.
Police also recovered a pistol registered under UG 16222 00061 CZ99 COMPACT from the scene and took statements from some family members who were present at the time of the shooting. This is to help in the investigation.
The chairperson of the Zone where the couple resided Murekyezi Godfrey was in disbelief and narrated how he associated easily with the couple especially the wife.
Katanga owned an import and export company called Merge Uganda Limited with his main clients being State House, SFC,Ministry of defense, Uganda Police, Office of the prime minister among others.
