Stepmother Poisons Stepchildren Killing 2

Masindi Central Police Station together with the Albertine Territorial Police have arrested a step mother for allegedly poisoning her step children; killing two and leaving one fighting for her life in hospital.
It is alleged that the suspect, identified as Harriet Komuhendo poisoned the victims Patience Katusiime, 8, James Asobora, 5 and three year old Mary Kyosaba. Two older children unfortunately passed away, leaving the last born admitted at Masindi General Hospital in Kihaguzi ‘B’ Village.

The incident happened at Labongo Subcounty, Masindi District and according to police reports, the suspect cooked food laced with what is suspected to be poison and gave it to the children. They are said to have become unconscious and eyewitnesses rushed them to Masindi General Hospital for first aid.
Katusiime and Asobora were unfortunately pronounced dead on arrival. Kyosaba, who is still admitted, is said to be steadily recovering at the hospital.

“We do strongly condemn such acts of brutality against innocent children, who have a right to life, by a mother who was supposed to nurture and provide for them,” Uganda Police spokesperson, SCP Enanga Fred revealed in a presser.
Komuhendo is currently being held at the station on charges of two counts of murder and one count of attempted murder.
