Court Sets Pastor Ezekiel Odero Free

Shanzu, Mombasa based court has set New Life sect leader Ezekiel Odero free after his arrest on April.

 

Pastor Ezekiel was arrested by the police and his church closed after being linked to Shakahola Massacre of over hundred people.

 

Upon his arrest, the clergy was linked to money laundering, carrying cult activities and blackmail of netizens.

 

Through his legal law representatives; Danstan Omari and Cliff Ombetsa who have been leading his case, on Monday the two wrote a letter to court prosecutors to give final verdict.

 

On Tuesday afternoon, Shanzu court prosecutors have closed the televangelist’s case file after a long court battle without worth charges.

 

His legal representatives in their verdict letter presented to court prosecutors on Monday; said the case has been undergoing delays without a positive outlook.

 

However, relief has been restored therein and court ordered  return of his Ksh 1.5M paid as a bail.

 

The televangelist joins Tongaren based clergy Yesu wa Tongaren {Eliud Wekesa Simiyu} are free men who have been reported to court over the rise of cult religions in the country.
