Woman Dies Shortly After Losing Millions To Scammers

Mourners flooded at Ngombere, Katosi in Mukono District to lay Namuyimbwa Suzan to rest.

 

Namuyimbwa is among the victims who unfortunately lost their money in Capital Chicken, one of the biggest scams to have swept the streets of Kampala where more that eighty members were conned over Ugsh. 2 billion.

 

 Nalule Grace, one of the family members revealed that the deceased lost Ugsh. 15 million which she had spent years saving from her cake baking business.

It is said that Namuyimbwa was suffering from a condition on her colon and had invested all her money in Capital Chicken with the hope that she will make profits that will help sponsor her upcoming surgery.

 

When she realized she had been scammed, Namuyimba lost purpose for living, pushing her into isolation and detachment from people.

 

“She pushed people away, locked herself in her house, and switched off her phones. It came to a point where she would just cry throughout and go without food or drinks for days yet she is sick,” she said.

Filled with distress and financial turmoil, Namuyimbwa checked herself into the hospital and was admitted without telling any family member.

 

“They asked for a lot of money to cover the surgery but we did not have it. The situation got worse and she unfortunately passed away,” Nalule revealed.

 

The ‘Investment Scheme’ worked in a way that individual investors amount between Ugshs. 1 million and 100 million on the basis that Capital Chicken would offer them a profit of between 40% and 100% on top of the sum that was invested.
