Man Sets Himself On Fire After Wife Refuses To Cook Chicken

Police in Uriri, Migori County are investigating an incident where a man killed himself after his wife refused to prepare chicken.
According to preliminary reports, the wife did not support the idea of cooking the bird since it belonged to their daughter.
She therefore asked her husband to seek a go ahead from the daughter.
It is then that the seemingly angered 45-year-old man, chased away his wife, locked himself inside the house and set himself on fire as reported by Nyaobe Assistant Chief John Atonya
“The man, identified as John Rugala locked himself inside the house before torching it. It is alleged that the wife refused to cook chicken for him.He protested after the wife urged him to get the green light from his daughter who owns the chicken,” Atonya said.
Members of the public attempted to put out the fire but their effort did not bear any fruit.
His body has been moved to Migori Level Four Hospital mortuary pending police investigations.
