Arsenal Reaches Agreement To Sign Kai Havertz
Kai Havertz will reportedly leave Chelsea for Arsenal in exchange for £65 million.
The Athletic reports that the German forward’s physical condition will now be scheduled before his formal introduction at the Emirates Stadium.
Havertz has already agreed to personal terms with the Gunners after declining a prospective contract extension at Chelsea, and the two clubs are currently finalizing “potential installments and add-ons”.
Since joining Chelsea for £72 million in 2020 from Bayer Leverkusen, Havertz has scored 32 goals in 139 games. Nine of those attempts were made in 2022–23, the attacker’s miserable season in which Chelsea failed to take home any hardware and fell into the bottom half of the Premier League.
Kai Havertz was earlier linked with a move to Real Madrid, but the move failed to materialize due to the high transfer fee asked by Chelsea. Arsenal are still planning on sending another bid for Declan Rice, as the first two were rejected this week.
