Home » Ababu Namwamba Opens New Stadium In Embu

The Sports Cabinet Secretary, Ababu Namwamba, yesterday oversaw the opening of the newly constructed Moi Stadium in Embu.

Ahead of the Madaraka Day celebrations, which will be held in the same stadium, Nambamba presided over the opening of the stadium and also promised more stadiums.

However, Kenyans on twitter have showed their dissatisfaction with the state of the stadium because of the money which was used to renovate the stadium. Some cited that the money was too big, as there was still the use of plastic chairs.

On his Twitter page, Ababu Namwamba said the renovation took 15 weeks.

“In a swift 15 weeks, we have rebuilt Moi Stadium Embu, which I received from the contractor in time to host the 2023 Madaraka Day celebrations today.

The speed, efficiency, and value for money of this KES 476 million project are the yardsticks by which we judge our administration.” He tweeted.

It is not yet clear whether the stadium will be used for sports activities after the Madaraka Day celebrations.
