Brighton Secures Europa League Qualification

The Seagulls Brighton drew 1-1 with league leaders Manchester City on Wednesday night.
Premier League champions Manchester City took the lead when Phil Foden completed a move started by Erling Haaland in the first half.
Brighton drew level through Paraguayan midfielder Ensico, who scored a wonderful strike from outside the box minutes before the halftime break.
In the second half, Erling Haaland had the ball in the net, but VAR overturned the goal as the Norwegian striker had committed a foul in the buildup.
The draw gave Brighton its best-ever sixth-place finish in the Premier League and direct entry into the Europa League for next season.
Manchester City had nothing to play for as they were already crowned Premier League champions after Arsenal lost to Nottingham Forest.
After the draw, Brighton manager Robert De Zerbi said they played well.
“It was very tough,” he said. “We knew playing against Manchester City is always tough. We played very well; we deserved to make our point, and we deserve to play in the Europa League.” When the situation was difficult, we didn’t lose our style. To press Manchester City man to man on every side of the pitch, I think that is courage.” He said.
