Gachagua: UDA Will Rule For 100 Years
President William Ruto’s led party UDA has indicated plans to have it govern for the next 100 years.
Speaking during a meeting with its county coordinators in Nairobi, Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua stated that theirs was to create a strong political formation by even recruiting members from Raila Odinga’s strongholds.
“We have moved across the country and you have seen that our party is now in every corner of the country. Our plans are bigger and we will expand the party to reach Nyanza region and other areas. This is a massive party that will rule for 100 years,” he said.
He further degraded allegations raised by the Opposition that they as a party were ruining other smaller parties by poaching their members claiming that those who were joining them were doing it willingly.
“We are being accused of raiding other political parties, we are not, they are the ones coming to us and what they do not know is that Kenya is a democratic country and if a party knocks to join we open,”he stated.
The deputy president too defended the early popularization saying were it not for early campaigns they wouldn’t have won.
He also urged the party grassroot coordinators to ensure they hold democratic elections at their levels.
