Liverpool Announce Four Departing Players

Liverpool announced yesterday that four players will leave the club on a free transfer after the expiration of their contracts.

1.Roberto Firmino

Firmino, who was a member of the productive front trio that included him, Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane, became the highest-scoring Brazilian striker in Premier League history in 2019. He currently has 80 goals in 254 top-flight games, but he hasn’t played since March.

2. James Milner

Milner, a former midfielder for Manchester City with 330 appearances, will join Brighton on a free transfer at the end of the current campaign. The 37-year-old has appeared in 617 Premier League games, which ranks third all-time in league history, but most of his Liverpool appearances have been off the bench.

3. Naby Keita

The Gabon international, who has 11 goals in 129 appearances, was signed in 2017, but this season he has only made 12 appearances as he has been sidelined most of the time due to injury.

4. Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain

The England international has made just 13 appearances, the latest of which came in Liverpool’s Champions League round of 16 loss to Real Madrid. The 29-year-old joined the team in 2017 from Arsenal and has played 146 times while netting 18 goals.
