Home » Church Closed Down After Pastors ‘Fight’ Over Offerings

Drama ensued after two Pentecostal pastors embarrassed each other over the Sunday offerings that were meant to be used to pay the church rent.

House Of Faith Ministries located in Kasubi Zone, Kampala City Center was previously owned by pastor Katongole Yusuf but later rented it out to Caroline Twebaze and in their agreement, she was supposed to make a payment of Ush100,000 from the offertories brought in every Sunday.

Twebaze however failed to fulfill their agreement with rent arrears amounting to Ush950,000

“In our contract, she was supposed to give me money every Sunday that she conducted a service but she only paid once and stopped,” Katongole revealed.

Choked on debt, Twebaze tried to close the church and run away but as soon as she packed up her belongings, Katongole rounded off the premises together with police after being tipped off by locals. They seized the property and demanded her to pay what she owes.

“We took away her things and put them under the watch of the local council until she pays me money and compensate for the money I have spent on this case,” he said.

Twebaze later gave up the fight and disappeared into thin air. The church property was taken by local authorities and the church closed down amidst insults from believers.

Katongole’s lawyer, Davis Friday vowed to fight Twebaze in court and help his client until he is paid back his money.

“She claims my client does not wish her well and wants her to fail but he has been quiet for the months she has missed her payments. He chose to stand up for himself because he wants his money,” he said while showing off the court documents.
