ACK Church Decries Tribal State Appointments

The Anglican Church of Kenya (ACK) now claims there is glaring tribalism in state appointments in Kenya.

Led by Archbishop Jackson Ole Sapit, ACK says they are more concern with the manner in which the president making his appointments especially in senior government positions.

They say the appointments have been favoring specific regions and ethnic tribes.

“There is glaring tribalism and cronyism, particularly with regard to public appointments. There is an apparent lack of accountability and transparency in our institutions.” Said Ole Sapit

The clergy insisted that inequality is not acceptable.

“Let all institutions and government agencies be impartial and efficient, and not simply beholden to political influence, but serve all Kenyans with impartiality,” they said.

Ole sapit and team’s sentiments come amid an uproar over state appointments that have allegedly favoured Kalenjin community.

President William Ruto has been criticized especially by online users for rewarding allies (mostly from his backyard) with plump government jobs
