Local Leaders Defend ‘Yesu Wa Tongaren’ Ahead Of Probe By Police

John Chikati, Tongaren Member of Parliament has come to the defense of Eliud Wekesa popularly Known as ‘Yesu wa Tongaren.’

 

 

Hon Chikati said ‘Yesu wa Tongaren’ is his constituent and has the right to use the slogan

 

“I don’t see any problem when someone uses the name ‘Jesus’, it is like me using the name John,” he said.

 

Speaking when he visited the self-proclaimed Jesus, the first time MP revealed that they have agreed on some common ground on a number of issues with Wekesa in relation to his controversial ministry.

 

 

The Ford Kenya Lawmaker, confirms that ‘’Yesu Wa Tongaren’’ is not linked to cultic teaching as is being witnessed in Shakahola, Kilifi county.

 

“I have come here with my team purposely to assess what goes on here but so far we haven’t seen anything wrong,” Chikati said.

 

Chikati urged Wekesa to use his gospel to unite people and spread peace in the community.

 

Chikati’s visit comes a day after Bungoma police Commander Francis Kooli, summoned the preacher for questioning on Wednesday.
