Nigerian Drug Cartel Arrested In Uganda.

Uganda police together with the UPDF Army have rounded off a group of Nigerian nationals believed to be dealing in marijuana and cocaine, a dangerous drug.
The operation was spearheaded by Katwe Police under Gwaivu Julius who was joined by the army after getting Intel from reliable sources. The neighbors to the suspects have for long complained about the suspicious activities and people who come around to buy the drugs.
It was one of the neighbors that led the armed security bodies to the flat where they rented at Valley Zone, Salaama Road. They managed to arrest a few including their group leader Emedo Emanuel while others fled the scene.
Upon their arrests, police searched their houses where they found both processed and unprocessed marijuana hidden under the beds, couches and in their shoes.
Some of the fellow tenants on the same flat revealed that they witnessed other members of the group running away with bags of cocaine after realizing their counterparts had been arrested.
According to Namu Gerald, the landlord where the Nigerians rented, he had received numerous reports from his other tenants about how the gang sold and used drugs at the premises. He says he tried filing the case at Salaama Police two years back but there was no positive feedback.
Namu further insisted that he had no idea on the kind of job they were doing and they had defaulted rent for many months. He however continued housing them because they were foreigners.
Gwaivu revealed that a case reference number; SD:83/03/05/2023 had been opened against the Nigerian Nationals and they will be charged for drug possession and use.
