James Harden Leads The Sixers In Beating Celtics In Game 1

The Philadelphia Sixers defeated the Boston Celtics 119-115 at TD Garden in game 1 of the second round of the NBA playoffs.

 

In a game where the Sixers were playing without potential MVP Joel Embiid due to injury, James Harden stepped up with a big night of 45 points on 17–30 field goal attempts while knocking down seven three-pointers in the game. Tyreese Maxey added 26 points on 10-for-24 shooting, while Tobias Harris added 18 points in the win.

 

 

For the Celtics, Jayson Tatum scored 39 points while knocking down four three-pointers, Jaylen Brown added 23 points, and Brodgdon scored 20 points in the loss.

 

 

Speaking to TNT after the game, James Harden said they are a resilient team.

 

“I work on that shot every day,” Harden told TNT.

 

“Whether it goes in or it doesn’t, I’ve got the confidence to shoot it. Just stay with my shot and follow through and in.

 

“We’re just a resilient team. Even without Joel, we’ve got the confidence to come in here and win games. We’ve been doing it all year long.” He said.

 

Game 2 will be played on Wednesday night, and it is not yet clear that Joel Embiid will play.
