Los Angeles Lakers Knock Out The Grizzlies In The Playoffs
The Los Angeles Lakers defeated the visiting Memphis Grizzlies 125-85 in Game 6 to advance to the Western Conference semifinals.
Despite having a star-studded lineup, the Lakers needed to win a play-in game to get to the playoffs. In the first-round meeting, the Lakers won four out of six games, and D’Angelo Russell scored a playoff-best 31 points, while LeBron James scored 22 points for them, and Anthony Davis contributed 16 points, 14 rebounds, and 5 blocks. Los Angeles, the seventh-seeded team, knocked out the second-seeded Grizzlies spectacularly after being blown out in Game 5.
For Memphis, Santi Aldama had 16 points off the bench, Desmond Bane had 15, Jaren Jackson Jr. had 14, and Ja Morant and Dillon Brooks each had 10 for the Grizzlies, and they will be disappointed to see their season come to a close in just the first round.
A 20-point halftime advantage and a 36-point third-quarter advantage for the Lakers allowed James and Davis to sit out the whole fourth quarter, saving their legs for the second round.
The Lakers will face the winners of the Golden State Warriors and the Sacramento Kings, who are headed to game 7.
