Popular City Lawyer Danstan Omari has sued National Assembly Majority Leader Kimani Ichung’wah over a tweet post that Omari claims was defamatory.

Omari claims that in the February tweet, the Kikuyu Mp Allegedly portrayed him as an immoral Person who always frequents the infamous koinange street.

“Phew! At least am known in Kikuyu by my people unlike the fake media based liar only known along Koinange Street!” the post read.

The drama between the two started after Omari, during a past interview on NTV, accused President William Ruto’s administration and, more specifically, Ichung’wah, over what he termed as the harassment of former President Uhuru Kenyatta.

The lawyer in a previous demand letter had asked for an apology and withdrawal of the said tweet or he would sue him for the damages.

The advocate through his lawyer Mabeya described him as a father and a married man, and a known commentator on various public issues on media. Therefore, the tweet was calculated to injure the image and character of Omari in the eyes of the public.

“He is also a father and a married man, and a known commentator on various public issues on media. Your tweet was therefore calculated to injure the image and character of our client in the eyes of the public,”mabeya said.

He now wants the MP to pay him Ksh.11 million for both general and aggravated damages he has suffered as a result of that tweet.
