Poor Chelsea Drops Points Against Brentford
Chelsea suffered their fifth consecutive defeat under interim manager Frank Lampard, as the Blues were beaten 2-0 by Brentford.
Remarkably, Chelsea have now lost four London derbies in a Premier League (PL) season for the first time since 2001/02.
Brentford first goal was courtesy of Chelsea’s Captain Cesar Azpilicueta who netted in his own goal in the 37th minute before 23 year old Cameroonian striker Bryan Mbeumo ensured maximum point for his side.
This could be the worst position of the blues in in 17 years to have ever finished below mid table. Chelsea are current position 11 with 39 points with only 6 matches remaining. Lampard could also end without a win at the club having played 5 games and registered only 1 point.
Also, Chelsea have lost five consecutive games across all competitions for the first time since 1993.
Brentford have now moved to position 9 with 47 points.
Aubameyang, Madueke, Chalobah and Chilwell gave their shirts to the fans. Most of the players applaud the supporters who remain in all four corners at Stamford Bridge. Also the suffered after they were deservedly booed off the pitch by the few fans that stayed up to the end
