Manchester City Cruise Arsenal To Take Control Of Title Race

Manchester City moved one step towards a fifth Premier League (PL) title in six seasons as a convincing 4-1 victory over title rivals Arsenal saw City secure a 12th consecutive league triumph over the Gunners.

In one of the  most eagerly awaited fixtures in recent history, both sides knew a victory would see them take control of the title race as the league enters homestretch.

Arsenal, who were eight points clear at the start of the month, suffered three consecutive draws, while defending champions Pep Guardiola side looked to build on an impressive 16-match unbeaten run across all competitions.

The home club found an early breakthrough within seven minutes. A brilliant pass from Norwegian Erling Haaland to Kevin De Bruyne got a clinical finish beyond Aaron Ramsdale to give City the lead.

John Stone would ensured Manchester City goes to half time with a perfect lead after heading at the back of the net from  De Bruyne free-kick. The Belgian Captain would come back to ensure they bag the 3 points by scoring the third goal

A late fightback of similar ilk to the one they produced against Southampton last week never looked likely, although Rob Holding did slot home a consolation for the Gunners.

It was too little, too late for Arsenal though as Haaland finally got in on the act in stoppage time, handing the title advantage to Pep Guardiola’s rampant team who are honing in on a third consecutive PL crown and a historic treble.
