American Citizen Arrested For Spreading Christianity In Libya

Another US citizen and two Libyan nationals alleged for Christian proselytizing in Libya were on Thursday arrested by the Libyan Security Forces.

 

The US citizen is believed to be a member of Assemblies of God Missionary Organization based in Arkansas in the Southern part of the United States of America.

 

The two Libyans arrested alongside the US citizen include a 22 years old woman who had allegedly converted to Christianity when she 15 years of age.

 

In a video clip, the woman narrates how she became a “missionary” while convincing other Libyans to embrace Christianity.

 

The arrest came a day after another US citizen detained on an account of “inciting our children to renounce Islam and convert to Christianity” at a private language school in Tripoli, the country’s capital.

 

 

The Security Agency said that they arrested the school’s Assistant Director whom they identified him initials “SBO” and accused him of working “in company of his wife as a missionary on behalf of the organization   ‘Assemblies of God’ in order to seduce the sons of our Muslim people.

 

 

The Libyan Media have identified the first suspect as Jeff Wilson who is also the founder of the Consulting Firm in Libya Business.

 

Libya is Muslim state and Islam is considered to be the major religion. However, there exists freedom of Christian worship for foreigners living in the country.
