Douglas Kanja Sworn In As Deputy Inspector General Of Police
Mr. Douglas Kanja Kirocho, EBS, OGW has officially been sworn in as the Deputy Inspector General and the head of Kenya Police Service.
The brief ceremony was presided over by the Chief Justice and President of the Supreme Court of Kenya, Hon. Lady Justice Martha Koome.
Also present was the Inspector General of Police, Mr. Japhet Koome, DIG APS, Mr. Noor Gabow, and Director DCI, Mr. Mohamed Amin.
Until his appointment yesterday by His Excellency the President, Dr. William Samoei Ruto, Mr Kanja was the Commandant General Service Unit where he has served since 2018.
Mr. Kanja also served as the Chief Armourer for the Kenya Police Service from 2005 to 2013; Deputy Commandant Kenya Airports Police Unit, he also led multiple security Operations including ‘Rejesha Amani’ in Marsabit and Isiolo, and Operation’ Fagia Msitu’ in Boni Forest.
He replaced Mr. Edward Njoroge Mbugua who retired last month after serving the Kenya Police Service for 46 years.
The national police service also made several changes of command that has been immediately effected.
In the changes, Ag. DIG KPS. Mr. Abdallah Komesha becomes the new Director DCI Investigations Bureau, replacing Mr. Eliud Langat, AIG who has moved to the paramilitary Kenya Police Unit, GSU as the Commandant.
Mr. Bruno Isohi Shioso, AIG has moved to Coast Guard as the Director General, and has been replaced by Mr. Nyale Munga, SAIG as the Commandant National Police College-Main Campus Kiganjo.
Madam Jacinta Muthoni, SAIG has been appointed the Director Personnel KPS, and Ms. Rosemary Kuraru, SAIG is the new Director Human Capital Development and Administration for the National Police Service.
Mrs. Jostine Barmao, AIG has been appointed the Director Gender and Children Affair at NPS.
Mr. Ranson Lolmodoni, AIG has moved from GSU,and is now appointed as the new Director Operations KPS.
The new Deputy Commandant NPC Main Campus Kiganjo is Mrs. Esther Mwangi, CP.
