Kisii: Two Morgue Attendants Sacked Over Incompetence

Kisii County Governor has ordered sacking of Two Senior morgue attendants at the Kisii Teaching and Referral Hospital over alleged sabotage, Gross misconduct and incompetence.

The first time Governor further alleged that the sabotage plan was successfully orchestrated by his opponents to have his administration lose credibility to the masses.

“I have sent two people who have been in charge of the mortuary away for not carrying their duties diligently. I have instructed them to go away because there is nothing they are doing here,” said Arati.

He further accused the two of asking for bribes from the bereaved so as to help store the bodies at the facility which currently hosts 200 bodies instead of 70.

“These people were being given money to clean bodies. They are even getting money for deaths in the morgue,” he claimed.

Arati confirmed of having new morgue attendants so as to replace the sacked ones.

He further said his government has allocated Ksh.2 million to renovate the ancient building to be used as a morgue.

“I have also directed the CEO to use Ksh.2 million to renovate the old mortuary so that it can host and handle all unclaimed bodies,” Arati stated.

He successfully waived all costs for the bereaved families who had failed to collect bodies of their loved ones due to lack of funds
