Students Nursing Injuries Following Dormitory Fire
Masogo mixed secondary school in Nyando sub-county had its 124-capacity girls’ dormitory razed down following a fire incident at 12:00 a,m.
One of the casualties is a form one student who was rushed to Jaramogi Oginga Odinga Teaching and Referral Hospital (JOOTRH) in Kisumu last night after sustaining a 36% burn on her body.
Eight other students with minor injuries were rushed to Port Florence hospital in the Molem.
According to the institution’s Principal John Otuko, all the 124 girls belongings went down in flames and they are therefore appealing to well-wishers to come and extend their hand of support to students who lost their belongings so as to enable them continue with learning.
Police have since launched an investigations to establish the cause of the midnight fire that has destroy property of yet to be established value.
