Wife, Two Family Members Arrested Over Husband’s Murder
Police in Rubanda District have in custody a wife, her sister and mother for the death of her husband that happened in a local bar.
According to the police statement, on 31st March, 2023, the suspect Twikirize Jeninah, 37, was tipped off by an unknown source of how her husband, now the deceased Kakambwe Agaba, 36, was at the bar having fun with another woman only identified as Rebecca.
The pair was at a local bar owned by Byamugisha Patrick when Twikirize arrived in company of her 50-year-old mother, Kyabazage and sister, Tumuramye Hope, 25.
A huge fight broke out forcing Rebecca to flee the scene leaving Kakambwe in the company of the three women. Eyewitnesses reveal that he was overpowered, beaten and vowed revenge for the humiliation caused.
Kakambwe who was already badly injured managed to escape but died on the way to his home where he was running back home to collect a machete to fight back.
Kigezi Region Police spokesperson, Elly Maate revealed that police visited the crime scene, took the body of the deceased for postmortem before handing it over to the relatives for burial.
The three suspects are in police custody and will face murder charges registered under CRB 119/2023.
