Lawrence Njuguna, alias DJ Fatxo, has won the Mugithi Artist of the Year award amidst the controversy he is in.

 

The awards staged by e360 to recognise and motivate Kenyan Artists saw Meshack Mwengei voted as male artist, Phelix Owiny win Male Model of the Year, Joseph Sonko Jnr win differently abled of the year, Fred Muyanga Gospel artist of the year and Sarafina Salim Female Mugithi Artist of the Year.

 

“There are many Entertaining platforms in Kenya Today that seek to award artists from all walks of life. The recent debate on social media has been widely focused of promoting Kenyan content which largely targets on Kenyan Music Industry. Many artistes have complained of not getting a platform to showcase their talent. This has prompted E360 EntertainmentT to come up with E360 Awards to acknowledge, promote, establish, discover and award artistes from all spheres,” E360 wrote on their website.

Fatxo got nominated for the award in February and he made a post asking  fans to vote for him which they overwhelmingly did according to the result.

 

DJ Fatxo is currently in controversy and on the news headlines following the death of interior designer Jeff Mwathi who allegedly died after falling off from Fatxo’s 10th-floor apartment in Kasarani.
