Kenya national team Harambee stars will be back in action tonight after nearly one and a half years out of internationa matches after FIFA ban.

Harambee will be taking on Iran in an highly hyped international friendly match in Tehran tonight.

The game will be played at the Azadi Stadium, Tehran, starting at 8 PM EAT.  It will be interesting to see who will Coach Engin Firat  pick for his first assignment after the suspension

Stars’ last assignment was a World Cup qualification match against Rwanda at the Nyayo National Stadium in November 2021. This came days after the disbandment of the federation and installment of a Caretaker Committee. The ban was lifted a year later when the federation was restored.

Under Firat 4-match Regime only Captain Michael Olunga, midfielder Kenneth Muguna, and the defensive duo of Aboud Omar and Joseph Okumu have maintained their positions.

Others who have featured either once, twice or thrice and are currently in the Squad are Ian Otieno, David Ochieng, Johnstone Omurwa, Eric Marcelo Ouma, Abdalla Hassan, Teddy Akumu, Richard Odada, Amos Nondi, and Duke Abuya.

Many Kenya will be keen to see what new Kenyan recruits in the teams, the likes of Alfred Scriven, Daniel Anyembe And Wilkims Ochieng will bring on board.

Firat will have no option but to start Patrick Matasi in the goal post and Abud Omar in the left back. With Kenya having problems in right back,  the Turkish will easily assign  Kenya born Danish Daniel Anyembe.

Joseph Okumu And David ”cheche” Ochieng will possibly partner at the heart of defense while USA based Midfielder Richard Odada, Teddy Akumu and Kenneth Muguna would likely be deployed at the midfield.  Captain Micheal Olunga, much hyped striker Alfred Scriven and Eric Ouma will complete Harambee stars attack section.
