Missing University Student Found Murdered In Her Room
The late Naturinda was found murdered in her rented room
Police in Kabale District are investigating the mysterious death of a second year university student whose body was discovered in her rented room located at Kamukira Celll Mwanajari Ward, Kabale Municipality.
The deceased, 20-year-old Naturinda Sarah, a student at Kabale University was last seen on Sunday morning and according to eye witnesses, she was engaged in a heated quarrel with a man considered to be her boyfriend.
Her disappearance was reported by her landlord, Charles Turyatemba at Kabale Police Station. The alarm prompted her father, Naris Ndaganwa to visit her rental house after spending two days without hearing from his daughter.
According to the Kigezi region police spokesperson Elly Matte, the deceased’s father gathered a group of people and together they visited the room. When they broke the padlock, they discovered Naturinda’s dead body lying on the bed. She died face down, mouth and nose covered with a piece of cloth and both hands tied.
“The police were notified and the scene of crime was visited led by D/CID/O, D/ASP Charle Batumwa and the dead body taken to Kabale Referral Hospital for postmortem,” Maate confirmed.
The suspect was identified as Denis Arinaitwe who is currently detained after shooting to death policewoman Komugisha Caroline who was also reported to be his girlfriend. He is currently receiving medical attention at Kabale Regional referral Hospital after he tried to injure himself the same day he killed the policewoman.
