Head Teacher Attempts To Rape 13-Year-Old Pupil
Police in Bundibugyo arrested a head teacher for allegedly attempting to defile a 13 year old pupil at school.
The head teacher of Bundimangwara Primary School was arrested on Monday evening following a viral clip that has been shared widely on social media, where we see the teenager tell her senior woman teacher Nakabugo Kudra about her ordeal.
In the story, the teenager accuses the head teacher of calling her into his office and convincing her of how he would clear her school fees and provide for everything that she needs. She notes that he also gave her Ush1,500 for transport from school to a lodge in Bundibugyo town.
According to the teenager, the Head teacher threatened to not only expel but to also murder her in case their discussion ever leaked to a third party.
“…he said he wanted to make me his wife. I’m feeling scared and I no longer want to study in this school…,” she stated.
While addressing the issue, Rwenzori Region West police spokesperson Twesigye Vincent revealed that the incident happened on 16th March and police had already launched an investigation.
The arrest happened on Monday after the stakeholders meeting that was attended by the District Probation Officer Adongo Pamela, District Education Officer, Byamukama John, parents, teachers and the suspect.
According to Adongo, the investigations that had been carried out showed that the teenager had not yet been assaulted, putting aside the need for a medical examination.
“This is a serious matter that needs to be keenly investigated. We have asked the police not to be co promised in this matter byte rather exercise professionalism and tell us the findings.’ She said.
