Robbers Attack Schools, Butcher Security Guards
Tension filled up Katikamu SDA Secondary School in Gayaza and Busukuma College in Nansana after panga-wielding assailants raided the school premises in the wee hours of the night.
At Katikamu SDA the goon badly beat up and butchered the security guard identified as Bright who was only saved by a fellow guard. He is currently in hospital nursing serious life threatening injuries. At Busukuma College, it is reported that the assailants ran away with cash worth Ush1.2 Million that was kept in the bursars’ office plus the school computer.
Kampala Metropolitan Spokesperson Patrick Onyango confirmed the attacks of the two schools and revealed that an active investigation had been opened to help capture the criminals.
The Resident District Commissioner of Wakiso District, Mbabazi Jutine called upon the head teachers of different schools in the region for a meeting and sensitized them on how best they could protect schools and their students from such danger.
In the same meeting, she also tasked police to always patrol schools and tighten security to put an end to such attacks.
