The school administrators of Kachonga Primary School Bukedea have jointly objected to the removal of the anthill in one of their classes through a letter addressed to the Chief Administrative Officer Bukedea District through and the District Education Officer.

 

In a handwritten letter penned down by the school Head teacher Akurut Grace and chairperson of the management committee, Omoding David, the board reasons that the anthill in primary five class acts as support to the class wall and roof. With the removal of the anthill that is situated in the class corner, there is fear that the whole block will crumble.

 

Kachonga Primary School is located in Bukedea District where the incumbent speaker of the 11th Parliament of Uganda, Anitah Annet  acts as the elected Member of Parliament for the District’s Women Constituency.

 

The letter was in response to the DEO’s query about why the school was keeping the pile of mud in class. When it made its way on social media, netizens on Twitter tasked Hon. Anitah Among to step up and use her influence in power to improve the services in her region.
