Eric Omondi Pays Fine For Women Jailed With Petty Offenses
The president of comedy, Eric Omondi has paid fine for three ladies jailed at Lang’ata Women’s Prison for petty offenses.
One, Joyce Naserian arrested by the county council officers(Kanjos) and taken to Central Police Station after calling out the name of a customer on a high tone, has been one amongst the lucky women to have their fines paid.
” Nilikuwa nje nikiita customer kwa sauti kanjo akaja akanishika wakanipeleka Central” says Joyce in a captured video.
Joyce was arrested on 9th February near the Old Nation House in Nairobi, failed to pay a fine of Ksh 5000 at Central Police Station which later landed her in the hands of Court Magistrate that fined her Ksh 10, 000 or spend three months in jail.
However, after her failing to pay the fine, she was imprisoned at Lang’ata Women’s Prison where she has been spending her days.
As fortune calls, the president of comedy Eric Omondi after hearing Joyce’s case, he shared a short clip on his Instagram page on Saturday to get the whereabouts of Ms. Naserian and on Monday, 13th March; the comedian has paid for her fine with other two ladies; Nicole and Naomi.
” We have released Joyce Naserian from Lang’ata Women’s Prison. She was to spend 3 months in prison for a petty offence with a fine of only Ksh 10,000. She can now go back to her children. We also released Nicole” Omondi said on his Instagram page.
Upon the release, Joyce and Nicole felt grateful and thanked the rescue team led by Mr Omondi to have them set free.
Additionally, Joyce’s release came with blessings upon blessings where one business lady based in USA by the name Bernice Saroni offered her a job.
“@bernicesaron, thank you for coming through and offering her a job. God bless” said the comedian.
Further, Mr Omondi said they released another lady called Naomi. In the captured video however Naomi is not seen, the two; Nicole and Joyce are seen smiling as a sign of hope.
“We also released Naomi today” Mr Omondi added. The comedian’s charity works continue to blossom just a week after he took two lorries of Unga to Nairobi and distributed to devastated Kenyans but his plan failed after being arrested by the police.
Last week, Mr Omondi posted on his Instagram page saying they have found the two lorries of Unga they were to distribute and finally, he’ll plan and make sure devastated Kenyans have the flour.
