Police Hunt Criminal Gang For Aggravated Robbery And Rape.

Kampala Metroploitan Police is on a hunt to track down a gang of criminals of robbers that has been terrorizing the villages in Wakiso and Canaan Estaste Kajjansi by breaking into numerous houses, robbing items and raping female victims.

According to the Uganda Police Force Spokesperson, SCP Fred Enanga, police is actively investigating a case of aggravated robbery and rape by three unknown panga welding assailants who jumped over a wall fence in Nakabugo parish and robbed several household items specifically electronics valued at about Shs. 2.8 million. It is also reported that the gang repeatedly raped the 20-year-old, senior six vaccist who was at home at the time of the robbery.

 These are painful incidents so we have tasked the Crime Intelligence and Flying Squad teams to ensure that they get to the bottom of this.” Fred Enanga said in a presser.

A similar case in Kitende Canaan Estate, Kajjansi was also reported on the 1^st of March 2023 where four goons armed with pangas attacked a home in the absence of the owner, raped a 25 year old caretaker and fled with electronics, 3000 USD, six iPhones and a car registration no. UBG 368J.

“The modus operandi is similar. Inquiries are continuing in that area as well.” Fred Enanga revealed.

There has been an increase in the crime rate and in the Annual Crime report launched by IGP J.M Okoth Ochola, police recorded an 18% increment in the number of crimes reported to police.
