Man,72, Who Survived Hyena Attack Killed By An Elephant
The family of Musili Musembi, 72, has been thrown into mourning after he was killed by a marauding Elephant in Likoni village in Kibwezi East Constituency, Makueni County.
Area residents have blamed the police for the late response towards the incident.
The irate residents are said to have wrapped up the body in Kenya national flag and further prevented the police from taking the body in protest over the poor response by the Kenya Wildlife Services wardens towards the wildlife menace in the region.
They also demanded to be addressed by Tourism CS Penina Malonza.
This made the security personnels fire teargas on air, dispersing the residents before taking the body.
The man is said to have survived an hyena attack back in 2020, when it came to prey on his cattle sustaining a bruise on his hand as a result.
The body of the deceased has since been moved to Kibwezi Hospital Mortuary for storage.
