AU Ends Contract With Azimio Leader Raila Odinga
The African Union Commission Chairperson has written a letter to Azimio Leader Raila Odinga to notify him of the end of tenure as the AU High Representative for Infrastructure Development in the continent.
In the letter, the commission recognizes his invaluable contribution in the African Continent as the Infrastructure Development representative while announcing the completion of his term of service.
“Your role in the journey, Excellency, has been invaluable. The transformation of the NEPAD Agency to the African Union Development Agency has now been completed, with full mandate to implement the continental Agenda on infrastructure”
The AU High Representative post was created in October 2018 by the African Union Commission chair Moussa Faki as part of the African Union’s drive to expedite the integration of the continent through infrastructure, in order to promote economic growth and sustainable development.
The first High Representative was Raila Odinga who was appointed on 20 October 2018 with term coming to an end today. The Azimio Leader and Former Kenyan Prime Minister has served in the seat for five years now.
