Popular Tiktoker Moya David recently broke news of trademarking his dance moves in an interview after that launch of Moya City Barbers.

This meant that  using the dance moves from then without his permission would make anyone face the law or  land in jail in worse occasions.

“Saa hii nimepatent hadi dance moves” he said

However in what seems to be a change of tune, Moya says he was misundersood and tells netizens that they are free to use his moves.

Speaking in an interview with Mungai Eve, the famous dancer explained that the copyright was necessary for branding and selling the moves as his.

“There is a time when someone wanted to buy the dance. For someone to sell, you have to copyright it so that it is legally yours. Even the songs I use are copyrighted, the royalties go to the owners. If you don’t protect your work, anyone can just take it.”

He further explained that any individual is free to use the dance only for fun. If one uses it for business that is where they face the law.

“As long as you are using the dance to enjoy yourself I have no problem. Legal actions will only apply to people using my content for business without my permission.”

He further revealed surprising over 2500 people thanking fans for their supported.

This change in tune come after a mega backlash from netizens who argued that he is also using Marioo’s song but the musician has never asked him to pay or even threatened to take him to court.

“Bro pride comes ….?Am sure you are learned. Also remember the songs you are using aren’t yours so tulia wacha pupa,” a fan noted
